Annual Meeting ticket sales donated to Dona ana County Humane Society

Each year the credit union donates the funds generated from annual meeting ticket sales to a local non-profit organization. This year, 140 members paid $5 to enjoy breakfast at the May 4 annual meeting, generating $500. With a matching donation from the credit union, the credit union was able to present a check for $1,000 to the Dona Ana County Humane Society, whose mission is to advocate for animals and their people in Dona Ana County, reduce animal overpopulation and defend the abused.

White Sands FCU employees raise over $12K for March of Dimes

Team White Sands FCU had 40 employees participate in the March for Babies.

Three months ago, the employees of White Sands FCU set a goal for themselves - to raise $7,500 for March of Dimes in recognition of the organization's 75th anniversary. They held bake sales and put out collection jars. They sold nachos and sold candy bars and stuffed toys. Forty employees even committed to walk the 7.5 mile March for Babies route and got sponsors. And in the end, they exceeded their goal by 60% - raising an astounding $12,049. "Literally every employee in the credit union took part in this fundraiser", explained marketing specialist Stephanie Martinez. "I can tell you that at the end I was a bit tired of candy bars, but it was worth it."

March for Babies is the largest fundraiser for March of Dimes, which is dedicated to funding research to prevent premature birth and birth defects. The credit union thanks its manymembers who supported this cause over the past three months.
