How much money do I need to open a checking account?
If you are already a member, you can open a checking account with any amount – even as little as $1. There just needs to be a deposit of any amount to start the account. You can view our checking options here.
If you are not yet a member, you first need to open a savings (share) account. The fee to open a new savings account (and establish a new membership) is $15. $10 is the one-time membership fee and $5 is the purchase of one share of the credit union. The $5 share remains pledged in your account until the account is closed.
