What are the fees on your Savings Accounts?

A savings account is also called a “share” account at White Sands FCU.  The fee to open a new savings account (and establish a new membership) is $15.  $10 is the one-time membership fee and $5 is the purchase of one share of the credit union.  The $5 share remains pledged in your account until the account is closed.

Once the account is open and active, there is no minimum required balance to avoid fees in the savings account.

There are other fees associated with a savings account.

• Inactivity fee:  If your account is inactive for more than a year, there is a $5 monthly fee.
• Excessive withdrawal fee:  In accordance with Federal Regulation D, there is a $1 per transaction fee if you exceed 6 electronic, automatic or telephone transfers or withdrawals in your savings account  in one month.  In person (at a branch) transfers and withdrawals are not subject to Regulation D transaction fees.
